The Sanitation Foundation published a study to further understand New Yorkers’ attitudes and behaviors when it comes to littering.
Results show The Bronx has the most litterbugs across the five boroughs.
Nearly half the people surveyed in The Bronx admitted to littering from time to time.
News 12 walked down Allerton Avenue asking people if they have ever littered.
One resident said it’s just the nature of the city.
“Absolutely. As a New Yorker, who doesn't?” they said.
“I think everybody has once or twice in their life. But I try to teach my kids differently,” said Patricia, from Allerton.
Others explained they only have littered small items, like candy wrappers.
If someone is caught littering, they can get a fine.
