Some business owners in the Bronx say the citywide ban on polystyrene foam is costing them more money.
The Styrofoam restriction went into effect on July 1. Eateries have had to switch their entire supply of Styrofoam to a product that is environmentally friendly.
A Morris Park restaurant owner says the changeover is costing him an additional $500 to $600 each month.
He says right now there are no plans to increase prices on the menu, but says he may have to look at other cost-cutting options.
Businesses have until Jan. 1 to comply with the new restrictions.
