Supporters and critics
of a plan to bring a casino to Coney Island confronted each other Monday
outside the second session of a public engagement meeting held by Brooklyn
Borough President Antonio Reynoso.
News
12 reported that The Coney would include a hotel, concert hall, convention
center and a casino. The location, between Cyclone Stadium and the aquarium, is
designed to be a community and citywide destination.
Critics said the
venture would invite more crime and traffic to the area.
News 12’s Mary-Lyn
Buckley was outside the meeting where both sides were chanting and arguing
their points.
