yesterdayVideo released Monday by police shows the moment that an 89-year-old woman was kicked to the ground in Midwood.
The NYPD says the incident happened shortly after 7 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Avenue P and East 17th street, when a man approached the woman standing on the sidewalk and kicked her in the back.
The victim suffered pain and bruising to her head and body. She was taken to Maimonides Hospital by emergency personnel in stable condition, according to police.
The man can be seen in the video stepping around the woman and walking off while she struggles to get up.
Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20s or 30s, last wearing dark clothing.
