A police officer responding to a call at a family's home was knocked out in the process.
Two female police officers responded to a family dispute call at 1466 Grand Concourse Friday afternoon. Authorities say a mother inside the home had an order of protection against her son. After officers told the son that he couldn't leave until they finished their investigation, he allegedly responded with a punch and ran.
The officer was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where she is in stable condition.
Police arrested the suspect, who didn't get far.
Residents say they had no idea about what was going on at the time, but they noticed a big police presence.
