Teen arrested, five others wanted in violent Longwood robbery targeting 74-year-old

A teen is facing multiple charges in connection with the brutal robbery of a 74-year-old in Longwood.
Police say the victim was approached by six people near Southern Boulevard on July 15. One of them pushed him to the ground before the group began to punch and kick him repeatedly.
A member of the group took the victim’s glasses. They then fled the scene northbound on Aldus Street.
Police say the man was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.
Investigators provided an update to the case on Wednesday, confirming that a 14-year-old was arrested. The charges against him include robbery, gang assault and assault.
The other suspects involved remain at large. Anyone with additional information is urged to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
