Teens open fire at busy intersection in Fordham; bullet hits woman in the arm

Two teens opened fire at a busy intersection in Fordham striking a woman, police say.

The incident happened Sept. 9 at 6:41 p.m. at the intersection of East 188th Street and Webster Avenue.

Police say two teens took out guns and started shooting. A 44-year-old woman was caught in the crossfire. She was struck in the arm and was rushed to SBH Health System and is OK.

After the two teens opened fire, police say they got away on Citi Bikes going toward Park Avenue.

According to the NYPD, in 2024 there were 40 reported shooters who were under the age of 18, and for this year there have been 77 victims of gun violence who are minors.

Police are looking for two teenage boys responsible for this shooting. They say the pair is between the ages of 16 and 18. If you know anything call the Crime Stoppers Hotline.
