STORM WATCH: Severe afternoon storms may bring heavy rain, wind to NJ ahead of Sunday cooldown

STORM WATCH: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Hunterdon, Morris, Mercer, Somerset and Middlesex counties. Stay safe.
News 12 meteorologists say a line of strong to severe storms will impact the area this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and heavy rain are likely.
TODAY: Sun and clouds, to cloudy skies this afternoon as storms approach. Storms enter the area beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Western sections and exit around 7:30 p.m. in Eastern areas. Highs near 80 before storms arrive.
TONIGHT: Early showers and storms, then a slow partial clearing beyond midnight. Much cooler lows 50-55.
SUNDAY: Sunny start, more p.m. clouds. Cooler and breezy. Highs middle 60s.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny, very cool. Highs 60-64.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny, middle 60's.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and milder. 65-70.
THURSDAY: Partly sunny and warm. highs around 70.
