Tenants at a Bronx public housing complex say the filthy living conditions have led to a weekly occurrence of unwanted pests.

Video shot from inside the St. Mary's Park Houses at 550 Cauldwell Ave. last weekend shows flies and cockroaches stuck on the wall.

Irene Pacheco visited the complex a few days later to check on her mother and found the hallway was clear with lingering pests outside and inside the apartment.

Pacheco says trash was piled on the curb causing another problem.

"Rats, I mean they're not mice, they're rats," says Pacheco. "They're like all over the garbage, like 10 of them."

NYCHA tells News 12 that St. Mary's Park is part of the city's Neighborhood Rat Reduction Program and exterminators are on site every Monday to address the rodent situation. Officials say the staff will inspect and take appropriate action.

Tenants say more maintenance staff is needed on site.

According to NYCHA, the St. Mary's Park Houses is one of 120 sites citywide selected to be a part of the Neighborhood Rat Reduction Program.
