A broken lock on a building at the Pelham Parkway Houses has residents concerned for their safety.
Tenants at 805 Pelham Parkway North told News 12 that their entry door to the building has been broken since the summer.
They say despite their calls and complaints, NYCHA will no longer fix the lock on the entry door because it has been broken repeatedly.
"If they see that our building is open they're going to think, OK, easy targets," said resident Justine Scott.
Residents told me there are strangers hanging out at all hours of the night drinking and smoking marijuana in the stairwell and lobby.
"Every time I'm going in my building I'm always feeling fearful. Always checking behind," said resident Georgia Holman.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA for a comment., but has not heard back yet.
