Tenants in a Clarendon Road apartment building say they have had enough of garbage piled high, bugs and rodents running rampant.
Frustrations are growing high for tenants at 2802 Clarendon Road, who say the stench of piled up trash has become unbearable
Mary Williams has lived in the building for 12 years. She says her kitchen window opens into the courtyard and that due to the smell she can no longer open those windows.
"I can't cook, I can't breathe, it's not fair. I’m going to be sick,” says Williams.
Williams says tenants have tried giving it time, but after two weeks it has become too much. That is when they say they decided to call News 12.
"I call 311, I call the manager many times and they say they coming to pick it up and they never come, that's why I call channel 12,” says Williams.
On Monday, one of the tenants says he received a message from management that said, “This is Sherry with management returning your call. I just wanted to let you know we're going to have a discussion with the super about the garbage.”
News 12 is told, however, nothing has changed and they worry about their health.
DSNY tells News 12 they've issued the address five violations for issues like "loose rubbish" and having a dirty area just this year.
