There are circus tricks and plenty of lessons to get up in the air at the Muse Brooklyn. The pandemic forced the Bushwick business to conduct lessons remotely, but its warehouse is now back open for classes. Lessons are returning to in-person instruction with some modifications.
Circus and the arts industry took a hit during the pandemic, but the Muse Brooklyn believes it is ready to rise from the ashes.
Angela Buccinni Butch says, "Now is the time to be present for the arts."
So, what exactly can you learn at the Bushwick location?
"Aerial silks and trapeze. You can learn how to do lyra. We have acrobalance, partner acro, hand to hand, and really kind of anything. If you want to do a more specific skill set, we're offering private lessons instead of group lessons right now."
There's no reason to be shy about trying the various activities.
"There's no way you would be expected to know how to do this stuff without the foundation and building blocks. What's really nice about circus, especially as fitness, is it is really fun and you're using your body to achieve all these things you didn't know were possible," Butch adds.
The business plans to be fully open by September.
