309ds agoRep. Sean Patrick Maloney made a final push for votes Monday in hopes of winning the 17th Congressional District race.
Maloney spent the morning talking with commuters at the Croton Harmon Metro-North station.
"I hope every Democrat, Independent and fair-minded Republican that cares about our democracy will get out and vote," says Maloney. "This is going to decide the future of our country."
Maloney says it's a tight race between him and Republican challenger Mike Lawler.
Maloney currently represents the 18th Congressional District, but newly drawn lines put him into the 17th District. The newly drawn district takes in Rockland and Putnam counties and parts of Westchester and Dutchess.
The longtime congressman has had a large showing of support from the Democratic Party and former President Bill Clinton, who last month campaigned with him in Nyack.
Polls are open on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
