Specific
varieties of Skittles, Starburst and Life Savers gummies were
voluntarily recalled on Friday by Mars Wrigley due to “the potential presence
of a very thin metal strand embedded in the gummies or loose in the bag.”
The
company says they are not aware of any illnesses and were alerted about the
matter by consumers.
According to the Mars Wrigley: “If
consumers believe they have purchased a recalled item, they should dispose of
the product and not consume it.”
The
products were distributed in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
