Thousands of at-home COVID testing kits on their way to Suffolk seniors, veterans

Thousands of at-home COVID-19 testing kits are making their way across Suffolk County.
County Executive Steve Bellone helped to put together the care bags at the Long Island Cares warehouse in Hauppauge.
Inside the kits are two COVID-19 tests, masks and hand sanitizer.
They are going to seniors, veterans, first responders and domestic violence centers.
"You need early detection and test kits is how you're gonna get it," Bellone says. "You need to find out right away if you're positive--take the appropriate medical action and by testing is the way to do it."
News 12 also learned 40,000 coronavirus test kits have gone to school districts in Suffolk and 20,000 more are on the way.
