A Throggs Neck community paused on Sunday to remember all those who died 21 years ago on Sept. 11.

Residents gathered at the 9/11 memorial outside Engine 72 for the annual reading of the names.

They read the names of all those who died from their community and rang a bell for each name read.

Around 100 people showed up to pay their respects and to support other neighbors as all of them braved the rain and filled up the street.

Several members of local law enforcement also attended the event.

As the years past, those who attended reiterated the importance of never forgetting and continuing to honor those who died on Sept. 11 year after year.

The annual ceremony in Throggs Neck is typically coordinated by resident Jim McQuade, but he died away earlier this year.

McQuade's family though, made sure the ceremony continued and organizers even said a short speech on his behalf.
