Owner Tony Martinez says this week is all about elevating Puerto Rican culture and honoring history. The week of festivities will end with the restaurant rolling out its very own float for a second year at the National Puerto Rican Day Parade.
"We just decided to bring the Barrio BX experience to 5th Avenue for the world to see,” said Martinez, who has been a parade participant since 1996. “Nuyoricans have contributed so much to the culture, to the fabric, to the styles, to everything. So that's what we celebrate here."
Martinez and Barrio BX will be bringing some flavor to the parade route with signature resident DJs, artwork, and of course the Puerto Rican flag.
This year’s parade theme is Boricua Del Corazon – or Puerto Rico In My Heart.
