The owner of a Throgs Neck restaurant says his outdoor dining setup was vandalized this week.
The owner of Parq Sports Bar and Grill says they have had igloos outside for customers to safely dine in, but one of them was slashed during this week’s nor’easter.
The door to the igloo, along with the chairs have numerous slashes and puncture marks. The stuffing in the chairs is coming out from the damage.
In surveillance video from a nearby store, a person can be seen entering one of the igloos around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, during the storm.
The person appears to spend about 30 minutes inside before exiting and getting on a city bus.
The physical damage done will now cut into the restaurant’s available dining space.
“I have one less reservation now because I only have five now, instead of six,” said the owner, Manny. “I have to figure out if I’m going to patch it up or put a new one.”
The owner says they have not filed a police report yet but will soon.
The owner says the restaurant has had issues with vandalism before.
