The Town of Hempstead's "vaxmobile" is out and about this week, stopping at Elmont Memorial High School Wednesday.
The town has partnered with Mount Sinai South Nassau to try and get people vaccinated while also making it convenient.
Dr. Adhi Sharma, chief medical officer of Mount Sinai South Nassau, says the mobile unit is used to bring vaccines right to where people live.
Dr. Sharma says the hospital has also partnered with school districts in an effort to get kids vaccinated.
With the Delta variant emerging around the country, Dr. Sharma says it's important to get out and get vaccinated.
The vaxmobile stops at Freeport High School Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
