Drivers using the Pulaski Skyway in Kearny should plan for a daytime ramp closure today as crews continue rehabilitation work on the historic bridge.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation says the Kearny on-ramp to the northbound Pulaski Skyway will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
Crews will install shielding underneath the bridge ahead of structural steel repairs and painting.
The southbound Pulaski Skyway off-ramp to Kearny will remain open.
Drivers will be detoured to access the northbound Skyway from Adams Street:
Take Second Street eastbound.
Turn right onto Central Avenue.
Take the ramp onto Route 1&9 Truck northbound.
Stay left at the signal at Communipaw Avenue to remain on Route 1&9 Truck.
Stay right to take the ramp back onto Route 1&9.
NJDOT says the rehabilitation project is being completed through multiple construction contracts and is being coordinated with other regional transportation projects to limit traffic impacts.
