New Yorkers heading into Manhattan this week need to be aware of traffic and street closures ahead of the United Nations Assembly.
According to the Department of Transportation, drivers and delivery workers should be aware that roads from 42nd Street to 48th Street from First Avenue to Second Avenue will be impacted.
New Yorkers who need to go into Manhattan are encouraged to take the subway. The MTA is reminding commuters that buses may be rerouted around the United Nations. Riders should allow additional travel time and check the MTA app for the latest service updates.
Historically, this week is the slowest week to drive in Midtown all year with speeds averaging just four miles an hour.
