Service at the Rockaway Parkway Station was suspended Monday morning following a train car derailment.
The derailment happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday night as the train was leaving the station and was heading toward Manhattan.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says the train was attempting to switch tracks when one of the axles, which holds two wheels, left the track resulting in the fourth and fifth cars of the train to separate.
There were no reported injuries.
According to the MTA, the L trains have resumed service between Livonia Avenue and Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway in both directions, but delays are still expected.
