Transit officials are cracking down on graffiti vandalism on Bronx and city subway trains.
Officials announced a plan to spend $25 million to replace the windows in subway cars that are vulnerable to vandals. The new windows would be coated with Mylar, which can be peeled off and replaced when damaged by graffiti. In an effort to catch vandals in the act, the MTA is also considering putting surveillance cameras in subway cars.
There's no estimated cost or timetable on the project, but officials say they have met with several companies to discuss options.
