5ds agoA News 12 crew found quite a trash buildup on the corner of East 179th Street and Washington Street in Tremont, and residents say it had been there for two months.
Among that trash was couch cushions, tires and even a fish tank filled with more trash, along with lots of broken glass on the sidewalk.
Right next to a playground, those residents say there are schools and a day care in the area. They fear the trash could be dangerous.
The Department of Sanitation sent a crew to clean up the area after News 12 reached out.
