Bronx kids who have been in trouble with the law spent the day shooting hoops in a basketball tournament Saturday.
The young boys from Horizon Juvenile Center said their love of basketball is helping them grow as people and move towards a bright future.
Recreation director Earl Knight said Bronx kids from the center playing on the basketball team are learning key life values like teamwork, unity, commitment and loss.
Team Horizon won their first game in the series and the players said they were glad to see their hard work pay off.
The players range in age from 10 to 15. Players said the recreational basketball team is preparing them for high school sports. They said they look forward to playing for their school teams in the future.
