A 66‑year‑old man was killed when a large branch fell during a tree‑cutting accident Wednesday afternoon in Trumbull.

Police identified the victim as Javier Valdovinos.

The preliminary investigation indicated he was cutting a large tree limb on White Plains Road when he became trapped between the limb and the tree.

Police say he had already succumbed to his injuries by the time officers arrived.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is set to conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
