The Trump administration said it will partially fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program that has been frozen since Nov. 1.

About 40% of Bronx residents rely on the federal program that provides people with monthly money to buy food.

Bronxites told News 12 that lines at food pantries have never been longer. One mother of four said resources are running thin.

"They have limited supply…By the time we get to the front of the line, it's really nothing there,” said Jessica Jones.

News 12 asked people what their reaction is to the Trump administration partially funding the program.

Adel Burgos, a man who relies on SNAP benefits, said, "Wow. Not enough, at least, it's something to hold on. But I think everybody's going to have to get a second job."

"It doesn't really last a whole month, probably like two or three weeks, but the last week you got to scramble to find things," said SNAP recipient Danielle Grant.

People lined up at The Hope Line in Longwood to make appointments for food and diaper assistance. Staff members told News 12 they service up to 400 families a week, but they're bracing to accommodate more people. They're looking into adding appointment times and increasing their food order.

It is not clear when Bronxites could see their November SNAP benefits added to their account, and it's also not clear how much money they will receive.
