Tunnel to Towers 5K raises thousands to support veterans and first responders
Runners say it's great to be able to give back. "It's always great to get out on a fresh fall morning. It's always great to be able to do that while supporting and honoring those that have lost their lives for the betterment of the country," said Rob Rosasco.
The second annual Tunnels to Towers 5K Run/Walk brought a big crowd to Bridgeport on Saturday.
The event honors the sacrifice of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller and other first responders on Sept. 11.

Saturday's event raised $160,000. Commander Brian Turco says event proceeds will benefit ending veteran homelessness, Gold Star families and first responders and military personnel with catastrophic injuries.
"'Tunnels to Towers' is a wonderful organization, Port 5 is a wonderful organization. I've never been so proud to be a member of Port 5. What we've done here today for America's heroes is absolutely out of this world," he said.
