The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has launched a new scholarship program for children of fallen veterans and first responders.

The foundation was created to honor firefighter Stephen Siller, who left his truck at the entrance of the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel on 9/11, then ran through it in full gear to help — ultimately dying that day.

Now hundreds trace his steps every year during the Tunnel to Towers run. The foundation also has provided mortgage-free homes to families of fallen heroes over the years.
