Two-alarm fire rips through four Bronx stores

An early morning two-alarm fire ripped through four businesses in the Bronx Saturday. The charred remains are all that is left of four stores on 167th Street after a fire that started around 5:15 a.m.

An early morning two-alarm fire ripped through four businesses in the Bronx Saturday.
The charred remains are all that is left of four stores on 167th Street after a fire that started around 5:15 a.m. Firefighters say the blaze started in the Suli Fruit store on the corner of the block and quickly spread to three surrounding stores. Fire officials say the cause is under investigation.
Storeowners are waiting for the insurance companies to come and assess the damage. One business owner said he is upset his six workers will be out of a job for a while. All the storeowners said they hope to rebuild.
