Two NYPD officers have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault.
According to court records, a 36-year-old woman was allegedly seen leaving Zona de Cuba in Melrose with off-duty officers Christian Garcia and Julio Alcantara-Santiago while intoxicated last July.
Those records also state that the victim did not remember leaving the bar. Surveillance video shows Garcia and Alcantara-Santiago taking the victim out by her arms.
Moments later, the two were seen taking her out of a car while she appeared to be unconscious. They then proceeded to carry her into 790 Grand Concourse Avenue, where the victim states everything unfolded.
Although the victim stated she can't recall moments leaving the bar, she remembers waking up on a bed and finding the two officers on top of her.
According to the NYPD, the two officers have been suspended without pay. As for Julio Alcantra-Santiago, this isn't his first run in with these allegations. Back in 2022 he was accused of groping a woman at the Hard Rock Cafe inside of Yankee Stadium. He was later cleared from that charge.
