A fire in East New York Friday injured seven people, according to the FDNY.
The fire broke out just before 11:30 a.m.
Fire officials say one firefighter and six civilians suffered injuries in the fire and are all expected to be OK.
The windows on the top floor of the building on Hendrix Street are boarded up, where a man was dangling his kids out of the building trying to get them to safety.
A neighbor says he caught two of the small children as their father got them out through the window.
The FDNY says the building is a multifamily home and that the fire broke out on the top floor of the building. The neighbor who helped get those kids to safety says he didn’t see many flames but smelled the smoke and heard calls for help.
“We actually had to kick the bottom door in to let them come out. It was crazy,” the neighbor said.
