The United Federation of Teachers are calling on Mayor Bill de Blasio to use its guidelines for reopening schools.

The union held a press conference Wednesday, saying that schools need to be stocked with personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies and have proper ventilation.

Every school must also have a clear plan of action, along with a COVID-19 response team.

The city's teacher's union also says that all teachers and students must be screened and have evidence they do not have coronavirus before entering the building.

The city's current plan only requires temperature checks for students.
