City. All right, let's bring hope back for another check of that hyper local forecast and the bitter blast. We're all feeling it's been a while since we've seen temperatures really this low hope and, you know, we know about the gloves and the hat and the scarf, but there's some other tips we need to probably remember. Yeah, definitely. You know, these cold temperatures are going to take us through at least tomorrow and then things start to turn around by the end of the week. But in the meantime, try to limit your time outdoors if you can. Again, the coldest time of day is during the morning hours. So if you have to go outside, just dress in layers, bundle up. And also if you are taking your car, try to warm it up ahead of time so that you're not getting into a cold vehicle and just be aware that you can also winterize your home, getting your home ready for the winter season by making sure that everything is insulated correctly. Check on your check on the elderly and the pets as they are susceptible to hypothermia and very cold temperatures that we are experiencing right now, over the next couple of hours still stuck in the thirties overnight, it gets even colder, feeling like the teens waking up tomorrow morning. So even though that's a thermometer is going to be 28 it's gonna feel like the teens 15 to 20 degrees out there over portions of the borough and even the city, the blustery winds is what's making it feel even colder tomorrow afternoon won't feel as harsh temperatures in upper thirties, near 40 degrees, a blend of sun and clouds but still cold and breezy throughout the day. Tomorrow, we're going to see the sunshine. Some clouds begin to filter in late but still going remain dry. Thursday. Your best bet to really go outside. Enjoy the sunshine and the slightly milder temperatures we're welcoming back the forties. So that's something that you can look forward to a little bit milder on our Friday. But this time it comes with some rain. So it looks like the best chance to start seeing some wet weather move into our area will be Friday afternoon, even lingering into Friday evening. Saturday does start off dry, but it looks like we're ending the weekend with some wet weather even continuing into early next week.

All right. Well, let's check back in now. We are dealing with this bitter blast still. We're checking in with teen meteorologist Scott Skoff. Now, Scott, you said today is not the end of these cold temperatures. I know it's the holiday season so I need to just get used to it. But man, yeah, there's a song that comes to mind. Follow la la la, la, la la oy because that's what we're looking at with colder temperatures. Even on the way into tomorrow, we're gonna be seeing these feels like temps staying in the twenties. But as we go to the end of the week, things are gonna be warmer but it comes with a catch rain is on the way, but those feels like temps can be the twenties all day long. So bundle up, keep yourself warm layer, have your jacket, your gloves, your scarf or hand warmers, reduce your time outside even with your furry friends too. Because as we go into the rest of the day today, we are going to be seeing these temperatures drop into the teens. That's what it's going to feel like for the start of your hump day tomorrow. So definitely even colder air ahead of us as we are looking at. Yes, a little bit of, I say it's snow. These have produced snow squall warnings over in northeast Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey. These snow showers are continuing to push on in towards us here in the city and you could even see those snow bands look to the north and west. This is a view from Kingsbridge and the Bronx. You can see those snow bands moving towards the city. So definitely the possibility is there towards the afternoon. I'm thinking between two and six o'clock in the afternoon, it's going to be some festive flakes, nothing accumulating but still be pretty to look at. And if you want to send your pictures in because it is going to be beautiful and by 67 o'clock should be done, we are going to be seeing that cold air come on and going to be in the twenties by the morning will feel like the teens and with that wind, that's going to be the big driving factor behind it. 20 to 30 mile per hour gusts through the rest of the day today and that will be lingering into tomorrow as well. So it's gonna be cold, it's going to be windy. It's gonna feel like the twenties even though the high temperature around 40 degrees with those blustery brisk winds gusts up to 30 MPH twenties overnight. But we feel like the teens because that breezy wind and all that cold air, the good news is we are going to be seeing that feels like temp go way up Thursday into the forties. So that's light at the end of the tunnel and then Friday fifties with the chance of rain. Same story, Sunday, Monday with milder temperatures as we enter the month of December on Friday.

Let's get another look at the forecast on this Frigid Tuesday night, Addison Dey still need to dress warm for tomorrow. That's the question. Yeah, absolutely. An one more day or two, maybe the two. Now, you, now you're putting two in there just a little lingering cold in towards your Thursday that we're gonna be talking about in just a moment. But thankfully though, one of the good things that we're gonna be discussing is that we do have milder days ahead. Getting close to average high of about 47 degrees and morning low of 32. The bad news. Yeah, we still have to deal with that cold air. But once that milder air moves on in rain, chances will be coming our way as well as we head in towards the weekend ahead. So as we move forward across the area, here's what we're talking about in white plains for those morning lows. Yeah, very frigid out there the next two mornings. But then by Friday morning and after that, we're above the freezing point. So you won't have to wear multiple layers to go out and about just maybe one way. Keep that umbrella by your side. So over the past several hours, we've been watching those temperatures cool on down in towards the twenties and the thirties and we've watched a few flurries fly around from time to time, just more or less. Just a nice looking flurry passing by, not seeing it add up on the ground, but going towards the overnight hours, mostly clear and brisk temperatures feeling in the mid teens when you see those numbers starting to go down overnight, even though the winds will be backing on down, that chill will still be in the air. So later on tonight, 10 o'clock, we got 28 degrees and Bush feeling 10 degrees cooler than that 29 in White Plains feeling about 18 in towards tomorrow morning. The coldest time of the day is around 6 to 7 o'clock or so. We have temperatures feeling pretty much around 20 degrees if not colder than that. By the afternoon hours, those numbers are moving on up, but still most locations are still feeling below the freezing point of 32 degrees. And I showed you earlier on that we're going to see those temperatures on the rise as the system brings us a chance for rain. It's gonna be arriving during the tail end of the afternoon hours. And towards that evening ride home should be wrapping on up throughout the overnight hours heading towards your Saturday. I think Saturday for the most part will be dry, but then from Saturday night into Sunday, we watch another system head our way. So we're not looking at this weekend to be a wash up, but we do have a few instances that we do have some dreariness coming through. Thankfully though, with temperatures moving upward, heading in towards the weekend ahead. We're not talking about snow showers. Nope, it's just gonna be some cold rain coming down and then moving.

Tonight, Michelle. Oh, it's tough out there right now. Eric. I mean, we're just watching temperatures drop hour by hour here. Wind chills right now. It's feeling like the teens and twenties already and it's going to get even worse by the time we wake up tomorrow morning. So you definitely need to layer up and cover all exposed skin, cover your hands, try to cover your face, especially if you're going to be standing or working out outdoors now. Right now, winds are still breeze and they're not that strong, but temperatures are dropping like a rock right now. All the way into the twenties for the morning. Here we are at 5 a.m. and temps are all below freezing. Now, the blue numbers here on the map, these are the wind chills. This is what the wind is making it feel like outside. So feeling like 15, feeling like 20 degrees for a time tomorrow morning and temperatures are going to struggle throughout the day. So we're not breaking 40 degrees. Staying below that today, we hit 40. It's not even going to be that warm out. Temperatures feeling colder because of the winds all day long for tomorrow and we could see more of those festive flakes are those flurries making a return right now. Things are much quieter, but there are some clouds around. Take a look at temperatures. That core of that cold air is here right now, but it's beginning to move in just a couple of days. Then we'd like warmer weather. Now, Sam is gonna try and deliver that makes me happy because I'm a summer girl. This is like it's not around the corner. Sam. You know, we have a long way to go. Um Our weather's been nice though. What an interesting sky today. Some sun, some flurries and this is beautiful. Uh Jim Lenning our very own, Jim Lenning got this photo when he was out today in Bellport. So along the south shore, we had a beautiful sky, some of those scattered cumulus clouds in the distance that brought in some of those flurries. If you happen to see them today, it was a windy day. It was a cold day. We've got a cold Wednesday morning coming up for you at the bus stop. Temperatures will be in the twenties. It is going to feel more like 15 degrees. So just bundle up have the layers on the afternoon, not so bad, 40 degrees, the breeze will start to die down. So by tomorrow night, there's not much of a wind left. Uh one more cold day coming up, we have these lake effect snow showers to our north and west where it's been snowing all day long. That's why we had some flurries, but as the winds die down in the coming days, um, those snow showers will be winding down as well. Back at home here, mostly clear in the morning. You see the twenties, cold start to the day. It is breezy in the afternoon, but the wind is switching to the west southwest and that will start to bring in the warmer air. So by Thursday morning, we're in the thirties, not so bad, less wind. And in the afternoon, look at this, we get that little bit of a warm up. So that will be my pick of the week. Forties with lots of sun will feel great after this little cold spell that we're seeing, our weather starts to change on Friday. It does turn mild. We're in the fifties. This is Friday late afternoon into the evening. That's our next chance for rain. It'll be fast moving. By Saturday morning, the rain clears out dry, start to the weekend, but our weather is turning a little bit unsettled. So by Sunday night showers return, we have some showers Monday, Tuesday, mild weather and then it will get breezy and colder by the middle of next week with temps.

Winter. You know me, I love snow. I'm a big fan of the snow. I'm a big fan of the cold. I know everybody out there follows my social media knows where I stand when it comes to the, or, or, or the pumpkin spice lattes. Uh Yeah, not so much. Let's see where the four listen, we've got a few more days of colder temperatures. Ok. We start to see a little bit of a recovery once we get towards Friday. But you know, tonight, tomorrow going into uh Thursday, we're still dealing with temperatures that are below average and we are still going to be looking for wind chills that will make it feel a lot chillier out there at present. Most of New Jersey dealing with mainly clear skies. However, I can't rule out the opportunity for a, I'd say an early evening flurry as those gusty winds continue to push some of those snow streamers in our direction. There's a possibility we might be looking at a snowflake here or there up until about, let's say sunset and then we're going to look for a mainly clear sky. Tonight, temperatures are dropping down again into the lower twenties that wind at 15 miles an hour making it feel about 10 degrees cooler. Some wind chills, especially north and west might actually wind up at around 11 or 12. We'll see how that all plays out. Wednesday's forecast again. Mainly sunny skies. I think we're probably going to be looking at a few more afternoon clouds developing as those gusty north westerly winds continue to try to drive in some instability to the area. It's cold aloft, it's cold at the surface. The sunshine is going to try to create some cloud coverage as we go through the day. But again, daytime, high temperatures not getting above or not getting to 40 degrees. So that cold air is going to continue to pivot through the Great Lakes in the northeast. We're watching that cold air drop all way down. Even in North Florida, we're looking at a few scattered snow squalls still kind of moving across western sections of Morris County. There's no accumulations. We see the flurries come and go as I like to call them festive flakes getting in the mood for the holidays, waking up tomorrow morning, it is clear, it is quieter but still breezy, we'll have wind chills, that'll make it feel cooler. We see some late day clouds showing up daytime, high temperatures again stuck in the mid thirties and then rolling through the next couple of days from Thursday into Friday, the winds change direction becoming more south westerly. So that's going to bring in more of a Carolina air mass which actually tries to warm us back up. Come Thursday afternoon. Now we're back to normal in the mid to upper forties looking for lower fifties to get us into the upcoming weekend. We're also keeping an eye on Friday going into Saturday. There's a system that's going to be moving in out of the Ohio Valley that will bring some rain showers. Probably late Friday going in a very early Saturday morning as our temperatures stay in the upper forties. I'll have more details on that forecast coming right up.
