Unvaccinated travelers on Royal Caribbean cruises to face stricter restrictions

Unvaccinated people on the ship will face onboard restrictions, including extra testing and additional costs. They will have to pay for $178 worth of coronavirus tests, face strict mask requirements and seating restrictions and the possibility of not being able to go out on land.

  • Royal Caribbean’s Celebrity Cruises are rolling back its COVID-19 vaccine mandate for ships sailing out of Florida. Unvaccinated people on the ship will face onboard restrictions, including extra testing and additional costs. They will have to pay for $178 worth of coronavirus tests, face strict mask requirements and seating restrictions and the possibility of not being able to go out on land. The vaccine-mandate reversal comes amid Florida’s heated battle with cruise lines over the state’s ban on vaccine passports. 
  • Fashion brand Canada Goose is committing to stop using real fur in its products by the end of 2022. The Canadian company has been long been known for its fur-trimmed parka jackets, but is now giving into protests from organizations like PETA. Canada Goose’s president and CEO says the fact that the company has been targeted by activists did not factor into its decision. 
  • Amazon is going deeper in the podcasting space, acquiring the platform ART19. Through this deal, Amazon will be able to host podcasters’ show and ads. The purchased space operates an ad marketplace that inserts ads into programming. Financial terms of the deal have not been announced. Amazon recently also acquired podcast network Wondery in a deal reportedly worth $300 million.
