U.S. attorney: Former NYPD officer pleads guilty to distributing fentanyl, heroin

The former police officer now faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

A former NYPD officer based in the Bronx pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl.

Grace Rose Baez, 38, pleaded guilty to the charges on Tuesday. According to court documents, Baez sold a confidential source working with law enforcement packages containing over one kilogram of heroin, over 400 grams of fentanyl and over 100 grams of fentanyl analogue in October 2023.

Baez negotiated the entire sale with the confidential source and sold the narcotics to the source outside of Baez’s homes in the Bronx and Yonkers.

The former police officer now faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
