A new United States Postal Service initiative now allows small businesses to deliver products to their customers faster.
USPS Connect offers local businesses quicker and more affordable options to reach their customers.
Businesses can take their packages and drop them off at one of the docks at the back of the post office, and they will be delivered by the next day, even within the same day in select locations if packages are dropped off before 7 a.m.
USPS Connect is a nationwide initiative, with the Van Brunt office in Park Slope being one of the first to roll out the program to serve around 30,000 addresses in the zip code.
To sign up, businesses just have to register online and receive flat rate bags and boxes for free.
Scheduled pick up options are also available.
"This is a product that hasn't been available to the public. And now that it is, I'm hoping everybody sees the benefit with it, and understand that when they drop the product here, it'll be 100% delivered or make sure it gets delivered that day. We are 100% staffed for this and ready to go," says USPS Brooklyn Postmaster John Tortorice.
The program not only benefits businesses with local storefronts, but also online shops as well.
