Faith leaders across New York City are celebrating the first Vaccine Weekend of Faith.
Every year, churches host Bronx Church Day on the steps of Bronx Borough Hall, but this year is a little different.
Church leaders are hoping to get more Bronx residents vaccinated as part of the new initiative.
Vaccine pop-up sites can be found at churches across the five boroughs in an effort to get more young people vaccinated as the start of the new school year approaches.
At some locations, residents can also get free food, a coronavirus test and religious materials like books and crosses.
Other locations across the city are giving out backpacks and school supplies in order to boost the youth vaccination rate.
More than 50 mobile vaccination units will be posted outside houses of worship.
