The man accused of stabbing his wife and fleeing to New Jersey with the couple's 3-year-old daughter will be transported back to the Bronx to face charges.
Diomedes Valenzuela, 47, agreed to extradition in Passaic County Court in New Jersey Thursday morning.
On Tuesday, police in the tri-state area issued an Amber Alert for Valenzuela's daughter, Rebecca Valenzuela, after a brutal attack left her mother in critical condition at St. Barnabas Hospital. The mother's name has not been released, but she is now expected to be OK.
New Jersey state troopers found and arrested Valenzuela on the Garden State Parkway in Clifton, New Jersey, hours later.
Valenzuela's attorney says he will plead not guilty back in New York. Prosecutors have not yet announced an exact date for his transfer or specified what charges he will face.
