A motorcycle crash on Bruckner Boulevard last week left a 22-year-old man dead.
News 12 spoke exclusively with the grieving family of 22-year-old Jaydin Arroyo, who say he brought so much joy to people around him.
Dozens of candles spelled out Jaydin's name in front of the Vyse Avenue apartment building in Crotona Park, where he lived his entire life.
His family sat on the steps he use to walk down everyday and exchanged their best memories of him.
“Very lovable. I remember Jaydin being so little and everybody just gravitating towards Jaydin because Jaydin was like a magnet," said Ashley Rodriguez, Arroyo's adoptive sister.
Arroyo was a passenger on his coworker’s motorcycle riding along Bruckner Boulevard Friday when the motorcycle slid in the road and crashed into a truck. The driver of the motorcycle is OK, but Arroyo died from his injures.
The crash happened just minutes before Arroyo was expected to be at his job working security at the building right across the street from where the accident happened.
His cousin says he started the job just a couple of months ago and was looking forward to work each day.
“He was excited about being able to save money, being able to start being independent, helping his mom," said Brianna Betancourt, Arroyo’s cousin.
She says he was always trying the help his family in any way he could.
The family is planning a balloon release for Friday night for their last piece of closure before his burial next week.
