A group people entered a deli, attacked the owner and ransacked the store Monday morning, even after he had chased them out with a sword.
Surveillance cameras captured the whole incident.
Armand Selmani, who owns the New Mocha Deli, says he thinks the robbers planned the attack.
A man ran into the store and asked for help before 5 a.m., claiming police were chasing him. Minutes later, a woman entered with a stroller. They determined Selmani was inside alone, he says, and the man spit in his face.
Four other men entered and cursed out the deli owner.
Selmani says he called police and his brothers. The group of men began to throw things at him and tried to take a lottery machine.
At one point in the video, they forced their way behind the counter, but Selmani pushed them back.
Selmani chased them out with a sword or machete, but he says they forced their way back inside and threatened to shoot him.
He fled upstairs, he says, and watched them destroy his deli on surveillance video. The video shows them tossing over entire display stands and knocking merchandise off of the shelves.
"I'm just happy I'm alive," he says. "But I'm still very shaken."
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the men in the surveillance video to call police.
