A neighborhood is mourning Friday after a father was killed and his young son was injured in a shooting Tuesday at the Butler Houses.
A crowd released balloons in honor of 29-year-old Jayquan Millien, who was killed during the shooting.
Millien had picked up his 5-year-old son from school to visit a friend at the Butler Houses when they were shot in the sixth-floor stairwell.
Millien's son was injured in the shooting, but is expected to recover.
The vigil started with a march along Webster Avenue and ended near 170th Street, near where the shooting happened.
Neighbors say Millien was someone who loved his community.
A friend of the family says that the son is headed into a second surgery to repair the gunshot wound in his arm.
Police say the shooter is still at large and that the investigation is ongoing.
