Vigils were held across New York City to mark one year since the Hamas terror attack on Israel.

A candlelight vigil was held in Central Park to honor the 1,200 Israeli lives lost, pay tribute to survivors and to the hostages who are still being held in Gaza.

The parents of a Long Island native who was kidnapped by Hamas last October and is still being held were expected to be in attendance.

Survivors from the Nova music festival were also expected to take the stage and share their harrowing stories of survival when Hamas militants ambushed the festival grounds on Oct. 7.

The community-wide commemoration ceremony was organized by the UJA - Federation and the Jewish Community Relations Council and Hostage Forum.
