Students of the New York Institute for Special Education participated in a basketball workshop on Friday with the LaGuardia Community College basketball team.
The students, most of whom are legally blind, got to learn how to dribble, shoot the ball and play defense with the team.
The idea to invite the players came from Clyde Bell, a social studies teacher at the school.
"They can do a lot of things that everybody can do, so it's really important that they are introduced to new things," Bell said.
