Out of service elevators in two Castle Hill apartment buildings have trapped some tenants in their homes.
Residents say the elevators in the 15-story buildings on Bruckner Boulevard haven?t been working since Monday. The tenants claim there is not enough electricity coming into the building to power the elevators. While some residents use the stairs, other wheelchair-bound tenants say they feel like prisoners.
Con Edison officials say they have yet to inspect the elevator problem because they are dealing with the power outages in the area. Con Ed doesn?t know when it will be able to send a crew to look into the voltage problem in the buildings.
