Volunteers in the Bronx are working to clean up a community garden that was destroyed by a fire. 

At least 100 employees from Timberland teamed up with GrowNYC to build new garden beds, picnic tables and garden benches at the "United We Stand Garden," located on East 137th Street.

They say the garden was destroyed during a fire last winter, but that it has existed in the community for several decades. 

Volunteers say they began working to fix the garden last month and provided News 12 with before and after pictures of the garden between Saint Ann's and Cypress avenues. 

They say the garden is once again becoming the latest and well-known community garden in the Bronx.

"It's incredibly important for there to be a diverse open space in a neighborhood like this and it's also a place where people can grow food and a place where neighbors can meet each other for the first time," says Grow NYC volunteer, Mike Rezny. 

The group says it is planning to add more vegetables to grow, and there will be an official grand reopening in September.
