The 77th Assembly District special election took place Tuesday in the Bronx.

Democrat Landon Dais won over Republican Norman Sobe McGill in the race.

The district covers the neighborhoods of Morris Heights, Highbridge, Concourse, Mount Eden and Claremont.

Democrat Landon Dais is going up against Republic Norman McGill.

Dais spoke with News 12 moments after finding out he will be representing part of the borough in Albany.

He will be taking the seat left vacant after Latoya Joyner resigned last month.

Dais will be sworn in as early as Wednesday.
