Wake for fallen firefighter set for Thursday in Brooklyn

Family, friends and colleagues are preparing to say their final goodbyes this week to fallen firefighter Timothy Klein, who died while fighting a fire in Brooklyn Sunday.
Klein was a member of the FDNY for six years and made a huge impact in that time. Klein, 31, was one of many firefighters who rushed to the scene on Avenue N in Canarsie to try and put out a fire at a residential home. As the flames spread quickly, the second floor gave out - collapsing on Klein and several other firefighters inside. Five firefighters were hurt, and 21-year-old Carlos Richards was also killed.
A wake for Klein will be held at McManus Funeral Home Thursday. The viewing hours are 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Those who knew him say he was a true hero who died doing a job he loved.
"He had a positive impact on every person that he met," says Keith Klein, Timothy's cousin.
Klein leaves behind a mother, three sisters and his father, who is a retired firefighter.
A funeral Mass will be held for Klein on Friday at St. Francis de Sales in Belle Harbor at 11 a.m.
