Family, friends, and colleagues of fallen NYPD Officer Jason Rivera had the opportunity to pay their respects Thursday.
Fellow NYPD employees took the time to say a few words, and tributes through song were made, highlighting the Dominican heritage the two officers shared.
Mora, who was pronounced dead Tuesday, has his funeral set for next week. The 27-year-old officer was an organ donor, and Live On NY says he’s already saved five lives.
Rivera’s funeral will also be at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which is open to the public.
A vigil was held outside of the 32nd Precinct Wednesday night, where both Rivera and his partner 27-year-old Wilbert Mora worked.
It is just one block away from where the shooting occurred last Friday night.
