Ida's powerful impacts sent the wall outside of a church in Pelham Bay tumbling down as its ferocious rainfall and winds tore through New York City.
Mountains of dirt and brick as well as dust could be seen piled up outside Our Lady of the Assumption.
Neighbors tell News 12 that the banister in front of the church and the wall that it was attached to were already weak, and that all it took was a storm like Ida to bring it down.
News 12 reached out to Our Lady of the Assumption, which declined to comment.
